Latest upscale cafe in Penang which is creating quite a buzz here with the very homey yet nicely decorated place – think Ben’s..
As the place was perpetually packed at the time being, prepare to wait for a table, I decided to give it a shot on a weekday early lunch hour.
Lucky for Raye and I, we got ourselves quite a nice quiet spot in the corner. There wasn’t much on the menu, pasta and desserts which we both loveeee
The cafe/restaurant concept are Japanese fusion with Italian food. We had 2 desserts and a main to share between.. I love the little details that they put in the tableware. Like this cup of black coffee (americano) that comes with the tiniest milk/syrup jugs. The waiter told us they bought them from Japan.
Pasta arrabiata with eggplants and bacon. Really nice, the pasta was cooked al Dente despite the crowd in the place. Generous portion.
The famous vanilla soufflé. Very nice !
The super awesome French toast that the cute waiter strongly recommend. It’s really fluffy and sweet enough without the syrup. That’s fresh whipped cream on top, not ice cream which makes the whole dish soooo tasty!
Really love the food there and would like to go again and again really. Price was a little on the heavy-side though. Just like everything in Penang now unfortunately. Desserts were RM16.90++ and the mains are > 20 if i remember correctly. However, this place certainly has some quality over most of those mushrooming cafes in town.
