To emphasis the petiteness of this camera, here’s a comparison of it next to my sony mp3.

I don’t think it will be a problem finding it’s 110mm film. The dificult thing is getting the film being develop =.=

Contrary to common belief, using 35mm films would be easier. It might so much easier to buy and develop but i face difficulty when advancing the film cos the indicators seems wrong or i just don’t know how to read it. Plus because its 36frames, there will be more films gathered at the spool, higher chance of getting stuck halfway too.

okay,time to criticize my films..

From my 36 frame roll of film, only 24 managed to be processed and more than half failed :(

#1 This is an example how a nice photo can be destroyed by a lab staff where they usually dont handle films anymore t.t  The below is incorrectly cut and then scanned. Hence the image is not cropped correctly to be center.

The frame that I used for this roll was  square over the sprockets but i failed to informed the shop and i guessed they just cut it all away  Although I can digitally crop it and make it nicer myself but then i’ll be missing the entire point of lo-fi photography.

The common noobie mistake when one uses a fully manual camera is forgetting to adjust the:-

1. Aperture

2. Focus

3. Taking into consideration the film ISO

#2 That’s why some of my photos are too up close, like the entire frame is filled with the focus object. Most of the focus for this roll was set at 4meter, meant to shoot something from afar -__-

#3 Mentioned above, when advancing to next frame, I do not know when to stop turning!! and therefore, overlapping frames…Mistake below are, not focus properly and overlapping.

#4 Double expose film. I think this is nice

#5 Double expose negative too. Wrong aperture setting.

Having said all the above, making all the “mistake” is how i learn to understand my Qinghua better ^_^ and the experience of handling a fully manual camera is fun! Never knowing the end product until you excitedly hand the roll of negative over the counter to get develop

Now i’m in the midst of going through my 2nd roll 120mm expired film. Will share when I have them develop.  Not sure what else was missed out but i think will be well covered in next post. hehe

And I swear I’ll not buy any cameras anymore. Analogue or Digital for the next 5 years unless misfortune befall upon me.

My old lumix served me well and is showing signs of retiring ages. Plus, i’ve been wanting to own a LX3 since I saw it last year during Jazz Festival…

But bearing in mind the film are expired, the result will turn out very funny. Hmm. I used the square format and 12 shots. Most of the frame turn out quite blueish, not sure what causes that. However, I’m quite please with the result as I’ve expected the first roll to be a total disaster from what I read online. Some even had the whole roll just blank!! My guess (and many too) is that they left their lens cap on -__________-

No pinhole setting. Some frame i forgot to wind the film hence weird outcome. And I also constantly forgot to check my focus and aperture. Noobie mistake

First ever shot turns out very weird and its dizzy to even look at. Skipping to second frame, featuring BrotherPoh. Double exposure on semi cloudy day. My favourite from the whole lot

#2 favourite from the role. Strong Vignettes. Lucky for me i guess. 

HAhahahahhaha.. This is funny. I took the first one with DivaLisa and then DivaLisa took the second exposure for me. Forgetting to wind the film and turn it the right way… :o 

Old groceries shop at Cheras. The old uncle/owner damn best. He was behind the counter and then after I snap the photo, he shouted at us in cantonese “hey, nice or not? Can I see?? ” Then i tell him, Err…sorry this is not digital camera -__-

Then he continued asking.. ” Oh, nvm. Will you post it on youtube or the internet?”  We all are like -_____-|||||

The uncle must be at least 70years old!! Nah uncle, already post your shop photo online… Haahahha

Next roll is going to be 35mm format with my 35mm back! Cheaper film and more frame to try out! Woohoo

Then last year, i was introduced to Diana series by Kimmie because before that I intended to get Holga. Anyway, I can’t afford any of it .

Until earlier this year, I got the UWS to add to my le familiaz Then I got my first roll of UWS developed, i so loved the end result, which pushed me further into looking at getting a diana vs holga. But diana eventually won due to the vast lenses and versatility it offers.

Do you know how out of of the world I felt when I know that an instant back can be fitted to Diana = producing the best of both world, best combination. INSTANT LOMOGRAPHY!!! that would have to wait though, until i get a firm grip it.

It was so damn difficult to get the lomo that you want, not mentioning a reasonable price one. After I did some homework, I decided to get DianaF+ Qing Hua from lomokids. They offer a HUGE range in malaysia that is at a very reasonable price. Cheaper than Mooks or those at Wondermilk. The only downside is they have a 10 days lead time for the item to arrive.

That’s why most of the people on my MSN list were wondering “who the hell is diana!! ” as my status reads: Diana come to mama!! and when I tell them sheepishly “its a toy camera” most responded with a long

So unlike MrSmallFace, who by the way, got Diana for me!!!! ♥♥♥♥ Early birthday present. To avoid any disappointment, real smart move. hahaha!

I got the camera from Jimbab? Sorry i did not really get your name. He was really nice and friendly. Guiding me and already giving me advice on how to go about making full use of Diana! Definitely will recommend anyone who intend to get a camera  from lomokids. On time in delivering and helpful too.

I realize there’s lots of exclamation mark in this post, which usually doesn’t really happen. But I’m realllly really happy that I finally gotten my hands on a DIANAAAAA!!!

Dearies + dates

Dearies club. The last time we took a photo together is during CNY which is 6 months ago! Time flies. I bet it will be in September till we can take another photo together or gather together. That night, pling must be pretty busy..hehe
