I believe to many of SHU students from TAR, we would have consider Sheffield as home away from home. Rightfully, since its the first place we settle down in uk.

That’s why when i planned to go Meadowhall for some serious damage to my bank balance, a friend invited me to go Sheffield, without thinking twice, i find myself on the train heading towards Sheffield once again.

(I started writing that 2 paragraph above 2 days ago, and i will try to finish it today 15/12/07 -__-)

So i reached Sheffield and decided to register myself for the convo next year. yay! get to pretend to be hermoine again and feel graduated again. nay! 50pd gone just like tat. *poof* SHU looks so different now from summer. It’s full of students and they are not all ah chah. Vibrants and busy instead of quiet and filled with msians or ah chahs..

After that, me and my host, ThienPing who also just got his pay check did some serious store raiding. Oh, how i miss FarGate! I never thought i will miss it so much. There’s a 1-Day only sale for coat in H&M that day. So i got myself a shawl collared coat. I mean, it’s a necessity right? I wouldn’t want to torment myself during these horrible winter cold. I would say it’s a steal, for coat like tat with that price

We had lunch at this Yorkshire Pudding place that shean once told me about. This is the Yorkshire Pudding that doesn’t look like pudding and looks lousy but taste amazing with the gravy smelling heavenly.

I just had some plain mushroom and ham omelette.

and then i finally got myself a pair of shoes my size after searching at 3 M&S stores -__- Anyway, Sheffield is beautifully lit up, all ready for the magical season. I’ve only got 1 photo near cityhall because we wanted to take more photos at night, i guess we left the house too late, it’s all dark and gloomy by the time we reach peace garden T___T

Oo..besides being a great host, TP is also a great chef!!! He actually cooked dinner for us and his housemates. Hoho. Why most of my guy friends are such great chef? Last time, donovan once cooked a full dinner for us girls. Great effort, mate. And i have 1 friend, weelee who makes amazing potato salad and is it fettuccine cabonara?

So while he busy away, i just take photos and chit chat..ahaha..u see how fast he chops up the onion. If i go at that rate, the only thing i’ll be chopping is my fingers wtf.

Dinner is served! Eh, no need to go restaurant d..hehe..so well made and decorated. With ben&jerry ice cream as dessert which unfortunately for me, too full to eat anymore.

Later on, there’s this Chinese christmas party at Embrace. Off we go without question, decked out in my new shoes and top. Since semester has begun in universities, students are flooding back into the clubbing scene.

Maybe because it’s tuesday night, the party was a flop. But it’s still filled with fabulously dressed chinese/taiwanese girls. During the whole time, i was thinking, Kenny will kill to be here. Hahahaha.. The girls really dress to kill. and dances …. like people in mtv or strip club. i dono. with their super short skirt and boots and white shirt tied at the waist. With so many guys that wants to be Justin timberlake…shirts, thin ties, waistcoat, trilby hat and popping and locking was all over the place!!

For me, well..i suppose i already damn berkarat. I dont know how to dance or simply because i don’t have my dearies around me? I am so kaku and stood there and watching people almost the whole night. I think i enjoy watching those people dance more. Where did these people learn to dance like that? From mtv i suppose huh… Despite that, i am happy to stay my tolerance to alcohol did not karat…HAHAHAHA

Oh! Oh, i also met a friend there. One of the smartest friend i have…hehehe..phdholdertobe! Glad meeting up with u

I hate goodbyes. Why is it so hard to bid farewell?

Without a doubt, this chapter in my life one that will forever be irreplaceable.So many memories, so many moments that has been shared. I really can’t find the words to describe it. Out of the world.

Just send off the final batch that will be going on their eurotrip. Freezing cold out there, yet the warmth from the hugs are enough for us. I’m glad I did not cry like maniac, although i’m not the only one crying. Who wouldn’t be sad in such situation?

To the class of 2007, Banking & Finance. 2 years has come and gone, all of us has made it through Mr.Wong Kam Hoong’s paper in order to be there. 3 months of studies and travelling has bond us closer than we would had thought. We see our coursemates so different from how we thought they were. Airline food transform people

Shin & Chua, the 2 most introvert people i know. The most you get from them back then is a nod or few words and now they are the noisiest bunch of all =.= Chua is even the course rep now. Go figure!

There won’t be another chance for us to cramp together to have dinner and tease the guys. I miss AhWong and Shin because now i need to wash my own dishes.No more moments for us to show off what cheap bargains we get from Sunday Market. No more night out with the guys at their nice house, playing Wii. Shopping at Fargate after class. Walking to Netto on Sunday to buy cheap grocerries. Playing chor tai tee after dinner is a MUST! Drinking parties, just to get Shin drunk.hohoho.. Friends that stays so close to each other than we were all within 5 steps away. Watching youtube was our best pastime. Bokga Dance is our best entertaiment

We will always remember our quirky lecturers, wont we? Mr Cowdell, the one that drinks coffee more than Starbucks can sell. Jon, our only “goodlooking” one. Phillip, the one that always bring a box of chocolates for us and did so many sweet things for us.

We have crossed path in this life, my friends. But it’s time for us to move on towards our future. Hopefully we will meet again in the future but no one can be certain.

Thank you, each and everyone of you. For giving me such wonderful memories, experience and time here. I already miss you all. Especially the girls from Flat 57!!! Happy Birthday HWEE!! my dearest bao ba! remember ALWAYS the times we had in Scotland and Liverpool

I believe we will be friends for life, not just for this summer or fall. All the best in your future undertakings and you know who to look for if you want to have fun ;p

Today my flatmates cooked Bak Kut Teh and Tau Ew Bak! Do you know how much i missed the smell of these 2 dish?? Although i kinda hate the dishes back home but just looking at it, already got me squealing all over the flat. Foodsick ! hohohoh

Ya, so although i grimace at the smell of the overpowering herbs, i still gladly ate everything somemore tambah nasi oy! haha.. Very pass la Monday team. Hope they cook everyday, then i no need to cook ady..somemore get to eat the best stuff like tomyam and wan tan mee…ahha..i wan chee cheong fun..Genting Kopitiam wan.. :(:(:(

The tau ew bak damn BEST…We bought some gammon and stewed it for more than 2 hrs…the meat damn tender and nice and sweet and salty and homey…i like it so so much!! The only thing missing is Eu Char Koay and Yam Rice. And garlic with dark soya sauce and also the black boiling kettle at the side of the table. Hmm…Thinking of gurney drive SongRiver.

Last Friday night, went to Noodle Inn with the whole course except for Weai. My charsiewfan dream!! Hoohoho…You see, so many people right…we conquered the whole place d.. Total of 18. If plus Neow, then 22 ppl!! haha

The portion damn big. Even my face canot cover the whole thing. Me n SYee share also, eat till want to die. Actually SWei wanna take photo of Eugene flexing muscle behind me issit? kekekek

Assignments are killing me…babi, canot finish wan…. how many nights ady working on it.

I no longer sleep. I take nap instead. Many many naps of 2-3hrs….how lah….!!

I’m already halfway through my summer course here in UK without much realization. Well, i do realize it. Just look at the stack of assignments waving at me to befriend them which leads me back to the usual sleeping time at 2-3am T_____T

Hmm, i still haven’t blog bout Manchester. Not very keen to blog bout it as i look awful in every photo. Really awful, that i vow to take better photo next round. Luckily i will have my chance to rectify the mistake very soon as i’ll be watching the match between MU vs Inter. Dying of jeolousy already boys? Hahahahahahhha

Since i cooked the western style curry dish, it seems like the rest of the chefts in my flats followed wise. I’ve had potato with pork/chicken with vegetable for 3 days in a row already. Tomorrow i shall cook Ku Lou Yok! Let’s hope that I don have to eat sweet and sour stuff for another 3 days..bladi ble bla..

It’s blardy flooding everywhere in UK but no worries to the ppl back home. It’s not flooding where i am because i stay in such a hilly place. It’s like hiking #3 in Youth Park everyday. Thanks for the concern over msn ya! I’m getting good calves muscle now! Kick ppl can die i think..

Today is such a lovely day in Sheffield. I’m loving the sun. I guessed the depressing weather we suffered for the past week had made me more “guai lou-ish” I’m soaking it all up today by walking around with SeowYee after class. Shoe shopping! I bet BrotherPoh will go mad in this store. All his favourite brand here. So will JasonYong with so many limited edition shoes. Such funky design. I dare u wear the black and white zig zag one! Mind you, not cheap like those stuff in sg.wang.

I like the rainbow pattern heel. 30pd though..hmm..no money.

I bought these instead. Not bad right (pls agree with me). I need one good flat since the green polkadot one that DivaLisa kept saying it’s fugly finally deceased. Quite sad, it served me well during it’s lifetime ..hmm..

Summer Beach Party

Today is 20.07.2007 = 20072007 I shall post something backlog and one of the best time i had in my life.

Few weeks ago, my uni student union organized a welcoming party for us TAR student. The theme for the night was Summer Beach Party. So we are supposed to wear like how we would dressed to beach. Unfortunately, it was kinda impossible as it was COLD! Over here, you wear sweater, coats or jumper out.. To clubs or pub or the nearest supermarket.

Anyway, it was a very happy occasion as almost 90% of my course mate went and we had free garlands to wear. As usual, i brought my camera out but i forgot to slot the sd card in. Pandai kan? T__________T useless! Whole nite have to carry the heavy camera around.

It’s was quite boring at first. Just sitting and waiting around for the performances to start. Just some performances by seniors and students. Jumping and strutting around on stage with bikini and corsets. hehehe.. Lazy to post those photo.

From the interval onwards, i had the best time in sheffield to date. Seriously pure fun! Don’t really know what got to us, but everyone was laughing and dancing for the rest of the night. It started when we knew Weai brought her camera. Photo with resident of Flat 57 and me 17. Quite sad i couldn’t move in together with them.

I try to remember ppl’s name ok *long breath* Kevin, Soon, Eugene KahYang, Sarah, Weai, SeowYee, Neow, Hwee2, Me and Shean. Yay! I remember all. Obviously, since i hang out with them now. hahaha

Eve Can Cook!! – Honey Roasted Chicken

Ok! Second dish for this blog.

Honey Roasted Chicken. Easy to make, easier to eat! hohoh.. I made this last Sunday and i got special request to make this again for Wednesday dinner. kekeke..Kei Sau fuen Yeng leh(Popular dish)

Need:-
1 chicken
Honey
Salt
Sugar
1 clove of garlic
A lil bit of olive oil or any oil

First, clean the chicken throughly and pluck all remaining feathers on the slimy chicken skins. Next, put your hands through the butt hole and clean the inside of the chicken with cold water. Then rub 2 handful of salt all over the chicken and inside it as if giving it a massage. Same goes with the sugar. After that, smear the honey all over the chicken, except the inside. Not too much, just enough as too much honey will burn the chicken. Cut the garlic into 4 and smear about the chicken again.

Dump everything into a clean bag, seal it up, shake about and put into the fridge for 1 night.

The next day, take out the chicken, put on the grill, pour the remaining mixture on top on the chicken and pop it into the oven for 1 hour at about 190c If it’s a bigger chicken, then roast for 1.5 hour or until it looks like cooked.

Yummy leh… The side dishes that me and MeiKin cooked while waiting for the chicken to be done. Eggs with bacon inside and some vege. That’s how our dinner looks life..

Harry Potter and a late night

YESH!

I watched it on the premiere of the movie itself here in UK. Many ‘first’ for me today. But i took very little photos because was busy talking kekeke…

First time taking the tram – It’s similar to LRT but has friendly conductor that told us she’s going to propose to a Japanese rock star in his concert end of this year. She has bright pink hair and piercing on the eyebrow and lips. Quite freaky right? Anyway, i’m very happy that i finally took the tram. No need to walk ady ^^

First time going to Meadowhall – Used to be the biggest mall in Europe but now no more lu.. Not that impressive to me. Looks like any other mall aka 1u. Anyway, the ground level was flooded during the disaster and many shops still close.

First time to Arena – This is niccee. It’s a huge area with stand alone entertainment center such as ice skating rink, a burger king on its on, a bowling arena, many other food outlet and of course CineWorld.

First movie here – Harry Potter!!! I think it’s quite a deep movie, too deep for children considering its suppose to be a children movie and all. Not as nice as the book (obviously). The beginning quite boring with many unneccessary scenes thrown here and there. But i like the end, however the part where Sirius died should be make better. Not enough emotion to make me cry. hahaha.. But watching harry potter with a difference. Many people dresses like wizard and witches to the cinema, complete with broomsticks and the hat. Interesting?

Anyway, we caught the 9pm movie and got back to city center about 12am. Quite a late night for me yesterday but it was a very very fun day for me. When walking around city center for abit, even manage to catch a glimpse of nearly sunrise. Well, the sun rise about 4am here, yeah so early right. Before that, i even visited a haunted house ..Woo…scary huh, but inside the house damn nice. Exactly like how you will imagine how a bachelor pad to be.

I really love it here but the fact that i can’t be here for a longer period is a bitch. SO i will enjoy every single moment here while i can. No mistake just experience. No wrong just learning process.

It’s wrong to think that you can’t learn anything by going oversea for only a mere 3 months. Alot of eye opener like the cats here are so fat and can beat up our dogs anytime. The education culture here which i will blog bout in a bit more. The varieties of people here.

PS: To clear any confusion, i DO STUDY here. In fact, my blog has not been updated for last week is due to the fact that i have to finish up an assignment. Now i need to start on the next one before i can go any where.

Leedmill Club

The first clubbing event i went to in UK! It was actually free because it was organized by the senior resident here at the place i stay. SO since it’s free, we chinese have this natural instinct of grabbing the chance!

Honestly, it was the dodgiest club i’ve ever been to in my life except for ALOHA (no, i haven’t forgotten bout that). The entrance makes it look like some club from the red district area and they actually play country songs. i’m like Hmmm…….i dont have my boots on, so i dont think i can dance to that !

Anyhoo, it doesnt matter where you are just who you are with right? I was kinda boring at first, just sitting there and drinking but soon after, i only know how to spell F.U.N.
